A Rockfield Studios piano in Monmouth goes up for auction tomorrow at a starting price of around Â£ 20,000.
The legendary instrument is a Yamaha G3 acoustic grand piano, used by bands such as Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Charlatans, Manic Street Preachers, The Proclaimers and more.
It is expected to be sold on November 17 in London as part of the Bonhams Film, Rock and Pop auction, for an estimated price of between Â£ 20,000 and Â£ 30,000,000.
The piano, built circa 1972, is from Coach House Studio, one of Rockfield’s two world-famous recording studios.
He’s featured on albums like Oasis’ Morning Glory (What’s The Story?), The Charlatans and The Second Coming by Stone Roses.
The instrument was also played on Oasis’ Wonderwall, arguably one of the greatest tracks in Britpop history.
Rockfield, located in Monmouth, is a rural recording studio that has temporarily housed some of the most iconic musicians of the past, including Freddie Mercury, who recorded Bohemian Rhapsody during his stay.
