Businesses, nonprofits, homeowners and tenants affected by the tornado that swept through DuPage County this summer are encouraged to apply for physical damage loans as soon as possible before the September 14 deadline.
The U.S. Small Business Administration issued a disaster declaration for DuPage and adjacent counties, allowing people affected by the June 20 storms to apply for low-interest long-term loans to help them with their process recovery.
Waiting to file a claim could cause unnecessary delays in receiving disaster assistance, SBA Field Operations Center East director Kem Fleming said in a statement.
Claims can be filed online at DisasterLoanAssistance.sba.gov/ela/s or downloaded at sba.gov/disaster and mailed to US Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76155 .
The deadline for returning claims for economic harm is April 18, 2022.
