MURFRESBORO, Tenn. — Mayor Shane McFarland and JW Roth, President of Notes Live, INC, an aggressive new player in the live music space, unveiled plans to open a state-of-the-art, 4,500-seat outdoor amphitheater in the Murfreesboro Gateway called The Sunset Music Colosseum on the river. The multimillion-dollar Sunset Amphitheater will host major tours at a live musical entertainment campus featuring amenities including 32 suites with fireplaces, as well as stadium-style seating and casual lawn seating . Live streaming from the amphitheater and adjoining indoor venue, the Boot Barn Hall, is planned. The facilities will be located on the 18.2-acre municipal parcel located at the southeast corner of Medical Center Parkway and Gateway Boulevard.

Live ratings, INC and city officials have entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding and will continue to negotiate binding development agreements that will be subject to approval by the Murfreesboro City Council.

The proposed $40 million music, entertainment and dining project also includes a Bourbon Brothers Smokehouse and Tavern, an upscale and casual restaurant. The full-service restaurant will include a high-quality tasting room, a rooftop patio and a large built-in outdoor patio housing fire pits.

A semi-detached Boot barn hall will accommodate up to 1,400 people inside. It will be modeled after Notes Live’s Boot Barn Hall in Colorado Springs, which quickly became one of Colorado’s premier concert halls after opening in February 2019.
