SEOUL, August 10 (Korea Bizwire)Among major music streaming services, Melon ranked first in a recent survey in terms of number of paid subscribers and user preferences in South Korea.

According to a survey conducted by the Record Label Industry Association of Korea of ​​1,500 paid subscribers for domestic music streaming services, Melon had the highest number of paid subscribers at 52.7% (duplicate picks allowed).

After Melon, YouTube Music with 31.2%, Genie with 20.2%, FLO with 11.5%, Vibe with 9.2% and Bugs with 8%.

Global music streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify recorded 7.3% and 4.7% respectively.

When asked about their preferred platform, the largest share of respondents (42.1%) selected Melon.

When asked about the circumstances in which they listen to music, the largest share of respondents (29.1%) said they listen to music when they are bored, while the most popular time to listen music was between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, 40.3% of respondents said they listen to music for 30-60 minutes a day on average.
