Rick Astley hinted at the release of a new record.

The 56-year-old singer is best known for his 80s hits, including his 1987 hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ – but Rick loves seeing fans embrace his new material and he hinted others might be in preparation.

He told Retro Pop magazine: “I’ve loved the last two years making new records and getting back to them.

“We made this record called ’50’ a few years ago when I turned 50 and it was such a game-changer and such an amazing thing to do.

“I wouldn’t say I’m addicted to it, but it’s really good every time we go on tour to have some new songs to play – because there’s a part of the audience that just wants the old ones, but we I find that people are a little more open to us playing some new songs.

“I really like it and I never forget how lucky I am. So, we’ll see. We’ll see what’s what.”

Rick remains enthusiastic about making new music and he can hardly believe he released his most famous song so long ago.

He reflected, “The weird thing about age and life is that I’m 56, and sometimes I feel like it was a few years ago that we made this record. And then other times, I get out of the car after a long drive and cringe thinking, ‘Yeah, it’s been a long time since I made that record.'”

The new issue of Retro Pop magazine is out.
