Sansar and Monstercat team up for Call of the Wild musical entertainment experience – VRFocus


The independent music label Monstercat recently developed its virtual reality (VR), notably through a collaboration with Beat Games and Defeat Saber. Today, Monstercat announced a new partnership with Linden Lab and its social virtual reality platform Sansar, bringing live music and entertainment via Monstercat: The Call of the Wild Experience.

Launch scheduled for July 12, 2019, Monstercat: Experience the Call of the Wild will begin with a virtual party to celebrate the label’s eighth anniversary. With performances from over a dozen Monstercat artists, free and premium tickets are now on sale through the Call of the Wild lobby in Sansar.

Ahead of next week’s event, the lobby will feature special quests where visitors can win prizes while unlocking clues about the party’s lineup. Following the inaugural event, regular shows will take place every Wednesday at 1 p.m. PT.

Monstercat has always done things a little differently when it comes to music distribution, ignoring conventional avenues like radio reaching fans within popular channels like YouTube, Mixer, and Twitch, hence the VR partnerships.
