Tizen to get music download service from 7digital

Fans of the Tizen operating system will soon benefit from a new application thanks to 7digital. 7digitla has announced its intention to launch a new music application for the open source operating system Tizen. The company’s new Tizen app will go into its app lineup along with its apps for Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows and other platforms.

The app is designed for easy access to music on all Tizen devices, including smartwatches and other portable devices that run the operating system. Tizen users will be able to use the music app to access the 25 million tracks offered by 7digital.

The price of music through the Tizen app will be the same as the individual albums and tracks on the 7digital website and through the company’s other apps. Tizen users will have functionality in the app similar to users of other platforms.

Global availability of the application is expected in the second quarter of 2014 and applications with localized functionality will be offered. Along with localization, the catalogs of major music labels will also be available in more than 10 territories. 7digital also announced a new advertising and content partnership that will enable radio-style streaming with leading audio advertising companies, including San Francisco-based AdsWizz.
